German Ambassador Andreas Kindl stated in an interview with Al-Hadath Channel that there are still hazardous containers in the Port of Beirut, but the government has not settled the dues for their removal. He emphasized that they are monitoring the investigation into the port explosion.
Regarding the assassination of Lukman Salim, he mentioned, "We offered the Lebanese authorities assistance in investigating Salim's assassination," asserting that political assassinations in Lebanon can no longer go unpunished. Kindl added, "We must put an end to impunity." Governmentally, the ambassador indicated that they "will not contribute to rebuilding Beirut until a reform government is formed." In a separate context, he stated that the listing of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization is under discussion with the European Union.
