Britain to Establish Partnerships for Significant Economic Benefits

The British government has announced that it will submit an official request next week to join the Asia-Pacific Free Trade Agreement, which includes 11 countries, with negotiations set to begin later.

In a statement, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that one year after leaving the European Union, we are forming new partnerships that will bring enormous economic benefits to the people of Britain. Johnson continued, stating that applying to become the first new country to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) demonstrates our ambition to do business on the best terms with our friends and partners around the world and to be an enthusiastic champion of global free trade.
