Arrival of "Energean Power" at Karish... Lebanon Loses Its Biggest Negotiating Chip

Oil and gas expert in the Middle East and North Africa, Lori Haytayan, tweeted: "The hour of truth has struck, and after 417 days of the President not signing the decree amending decree 6433, and after 34 days since the launch of the floating platform, we are facing the bitter reality: Energean Power has arrived at Karish. After connecting the platform to the infrastructure, it will take two to three months to start production, and we have lost our biggest negotiating card." MP Bilal Abdullah also tweeted: "Unfortunately, the American Energean Power vessel is crossing the Suez Canal towards the Karish field to explore for oil, taking advantage of our inability to safeguard our gas and oil wealth, and our failure to delineate our maritime borders in a scientific and realistic manner, and of course unconcerned with all the warnings and threats."
