Israeli sources reported that 4 people were injured in a shooting attack that occurred near one of the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque in the Old City of Jerusalem on Sunday morning. It added, citing police, that the attacker who was armed with a firearm was neutralized and later died from his injuries, while the attacker with the knife remains at large. The Hebrew Channel "Kan" reported that Israeli police are conducting a search and pursuit for the second assailant who fled the scene of the attack. According to the "Magen David Adom" emergency organization, two of the victims are civilians in their thirties, while police confirmed that the other two injured are officers with minor injuries. Furthermore, our correspondent reported, citing Hebrew sources, that there were 4 injuries, one in extremely critical condition, another serious, and two with minor injuries, following an armed confrontation in the Old City of Jerusalem. The correspondent added that the attacker was dressed in religious Jewish attire, armed, and wearing a bulletproof vest, specifying that he carried a "Carl Gustav" submachine gun. Palestinian media reported that Israeli forces shot a Palestinian youth near the Chain Gate under the pretext of carrying out a stabbing attack. Eyewitnesses reported that heavy gunfire was heard from the area of the Chain Gate and immediately, Israeli forces closed the gates of Al-Aqsa and the Old City. The witnesses stated that a large number of Israeli forces are present in the area of the Chain Gate and are preventing access to the location.
