Dubai Starts Vaccinating Ages 12 to 15; Approximately Two-Thirds of UAE Residents Have Received Both Doses

The Dubai Media Office announced on Twitter on Tuesday that the emirate has begun vaccinating individuals aged 12 to 15 with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to prevent COVID-19. The office noted, "As part of the expansion of vaccination campaigns to combat COVID-19 and to protect the community, the Dubai Health Authority continues to vaccinate youths over the age of 12 with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine." A Reuters tally on COVID-19 shows that the UAE is among the highest countries in the world in vaccination rates, with nearly two-thirds of its population having received two complete doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, or Sputnik V vaccines.
