The Dubai Media Office announced on Twitter on Tuesday that the emirate has begun vaccinating individuals aged 12 to 15 with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to prevent COVID-19. The office noted, "As part of the expansion of vaccination campaigns to combat COVID-19 and to protect the community, the Dubai Health Authority continues to vaccinate youths over the age of 12 with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine." A Reuters tally on COVID-19 shows that the UAE is among the highest countries in the world in vaccination rates, with nearly two-thirds of its population having received two complete doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, or Sputnik V vaccines.
