The issue of the southern Lebanese borders and the maritime area is escalating, especially with Israel taking serious steps to explore for gas in disputed regions, while Lebanon has not officially moved towards signing Decree 6433 by the President and sending it to the United Nations. In this context, U.S. envoy Amos Hochstein is scheduled to arrive in Lebanon on Sunday to meet with official representatives and discuss the matter. In this framework, Member of Parliament Qassem Hashem indicated that there will be a request for Hochstein to expedite his actions towards solutions to avoid delays, reiterating that there are non-negotiable constants. Consequently, Lebanon is in a race against time, urging negotiations forward so it can benefit from its resources as soon as possible, away from populism and opportunism.
