"These phones will not work starting January 4 of this year, and you will not be able to make calls, send or receive text messages, or even connect to the internet via Wi-Fi," the manufacturer of one cellular device, BlackBerry, announced, confirming that it will stop supporting services for devices running its old operating systems starting at this time. The functionalities that will no longer be available include basic services such as making phone calls and sending text messages, among others, according to the company's statement. According to "Al-Hurra" website, BlackBerry had announced this for the first time in September 2020, and on January 4 of this year, services for the operating systems "BlackBerry 7", "BlackBerry 10", and "BlackBerry PlayBook 2" will cease. Devices running these operating systems will not be able to make calls, send or receive text messages, or even connect to the internet via Wi-Fi. The company advises users of these phones to transfer their data to other devices, fearing loss or inability to recover it. BlackBerry ceased making cellular devices in 2016 and refocused its efforts on developing applications, introducing Android-based mobile devices in 2020.
