In a statement issued this evening, he stated that the UAE joins others in calling for an immediate halt to violence and hostilities, urging all parties to exercise maximum restraint and take immediate steps to commit to a ceasefire and initiate political dialogue.
He emphasized that the painful events witnessed last week serve as an important reminder of the necessity to commence peaceful dialogue and reconciliation, and he hopes that the Abraham Accords will fulfill their promises for current and future generations to live with their neighbors in peace, dignity, and prosperity.
He added that true leadership during this time of crisis requires an end to all provocative and retaliatory actions that could exacerbate tensions between the two sides, and work towards calming the situation and reducing hostilities.
