Egyptian artist and writer Amr Mahmoud Yassin was involved in a horrific car accident today, Saturday, but he was unharmed. Amr Mahmoud Yassin shared pictures of his damaged car on his Facebook page, commenting: "Thank God, it was destined and what He willed happened, and I am fine, thank God." He revealed yesterday the reason for his absence from the ceremony to unveil his father's statue at the cultural center in Port Said, the hometown of his late father, the Egyptian star Mahmoud Yassin. Amr stated on his Facebook account: "Unfortunately, difficult work circumstances prevent me from being in Port Said now to unveil my father, artist Mahmoud Yassin's statue at the cultural center, and to attend that celebration. In truth, this pains me greatly, and I tried my best to be present, but work responsibilities and a live show were obstacles to my attendance."
