Swiss businessman Hansjörg Wyss stated to the Swiss newspaper Blick that he is considering purchasing Chelsea FC from Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. The newspaper quoted Wyss in an interview published on Wednesday: "Abramovich is currently trying to sell all of his properties in England and wants to quickly get rid of Chelsea. I received an offer on Tuesday along with three others to buy Chelsea from Abramovich."
Wyss mentioned that he would have to wait 4 or 5 days to see how things will unfold. He added, "Abramovich is asking for a lot right now. As you know, Chelsea owes him £2 billion. But Chelsea doesn't have money. This means that any party wishing to buy Chelsea must compensate Abramovich."
He continued, "I am considering making an offer with partners to buy Chelsea, but first, I need to carefully check the general terms. What I can say for sure, however, is that I will definitely not do anything like this alone. If I buy Chelsea, it will be with a consortium of 6 or 7 investors."
