Egyptian media reported that global star Mohamed Salah contacted a family member in Cairo and requested necessary assistance to treat an Egyptian journalist from the Gharbia Governorate, who contracted malaria after returning from supporting the Egyptian national team in its recent participation in the Africa Cup of Nations held in Cameroon, where Senegal emerged victorious against the Pharaohs.
According to Abdel Aziz Al-Bamby, the uncle of player Mohamed Salah, there has been communication with the Liverpool star, who confirmed his full support, along with his family, for journalist Mohamed Ghoneim, who traveled to Cameroon to support the Egyptian team. Ghoneim was admitted to a hospital in Egypt two days ago, and his health condition is unstable, currently in complete coma due to suffering from malaria.
It is worth noting that malaria is a contagious parasitic disease transmitted through mosquitoes that thrive in swamps and stagnant water bodies, and it is prevalent in many African countries, leading to elevated temperatures in the infected individual.
