In Kuwait: 5 New Suspects Arrested in Hezbollah Financing Case

An informed source confirmed to Al-Qabas newspaper that 5 new individuals have been apprehended in the case of financing Hezbollah, bringing the total number of suspects to 23. A court ruling has resulted in 12 of them being ordered to remain in custody until the 13th of this month. Investigations are still ongoing with the new suspects, who are currently detained in relation to the case, while a decision regarding the detention of other suspects is also pending.

These new developments come 30 days after the initial arrests in this case. Despite significant progress in the marathon investigations conducted by the State Security Agency and the Public Prosecution, the number of suspects continues to rise, with the possibility of additional names emerging.

The source indicated that investigations are ongoing with other suspects to clarify and understand their relationships with those already charged, but the case has been classified as a state security matter. Furthermore, the new suspects have denied all accusations against them, asserting that their involvement was limited to charitable work and that they did not finance the banned Hezbollah organization.
