The town of Arsal and villages in northern Bekaa mourned the victims of the "truck massacre." Thousands of residents from Arsal and neighboring villages participated in the funeral. The driver of the truck, Mohammed Diab Ghaddah, who joined the ranks of the victims today, lost control of the truck after its brakes failed while descending the steep slope in Arsal, leading to the vehicle crashing into several cars and a house belonging to the Al-Fleiti family before the truck caught fire.
The incident resulted in the death of seven members of the Al-Fleiti family and the truck driver.
