New Court Decision Regarding the Removal of Mohamed Ramadan from the Acting and Music Unions

The Administrative Court in Egypt has decided to refer a lawsuit seeking the revocation of the licenses issued to Mohamed Ramadan for acting and singing, as well as his removal from the unions of acting and music, to the State Commissioners Authority for advisement. Lawyer Samir Sabry, who filed the lawsuit, stated that "art is a mirror of society and reflects the advancement or regression of nations," pointing out that "art can either lead society towards elevation or decline and destruction by playing on the strings of the human values of the community."

Sabry emphasized in the lawsuit against artist Mohamed Ramadan that "art is the ability to evoke the self, allowing individuals to express themselves or their surroundings visually, audibly, or through movement, and it can be used to translate the feelings and conflicts inherent in one's essential self." He continued, saying, "It is not necessarily about expressing one's needs for necessities in life, although some scholars consider art a life necessity for humans, akin to water and food."

In another development, the North Giza Appeals Court accepted the appeal submitted by artist Mohamed Ramadan against a ruling obligating him to pay an amount of 12.5 million Egyptian pounds to a production company due to the cancellation of his contract for a film, as reported by Egyptian media. Previously, an Egyptian court ruled against accepting a lawsuit that sought a judgment for the permanent removal of artist Mohamed Ramadan from the records of the acting union and prohibited him from practicing the profession.
