Recently, Bihar's Patna city witnessed a case of gang rape involving a girl who was tricked into receiving a COVID-19 vaccine. Two men encountered the victim at a health center in Patna, which is suffering from an unprecedented COVID-19 outbreak, and convinced the under-18 girl to accompany them for vaccination. According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail," the men, identified as Rocky and Montu, took the girl to an abandoned house where they raped her.
The victim told the police she was bound by her hands and feet and had her mouth covered with a cloth during the assault. The police investigating the case reported that the girl managed to free herself and fled home, where she informed her family of what had happened. The police arrested the rapists, who were known criminals in the area.
India is currently experiencing a significant spike in COVID-19 cases, with the Indian Ministry of Health reporting over 400,000 new cases in the last 24 hours. The ministry stated that 401,993 new infections were recorded, raising the total number of cases in India to over 19.1 million. The death toll reached 3,523 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total fatalities due to COVID-19 to 211,853.
