The U.S. Department of Defense stated on Wednesday that it is tracking the uncontrolled descent of the out-of-control "Long March - 5B Y2" rocket, which launched a module for the Chinese space station into orbit last week. Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told reporters that debris from the rocket is expected to return to Earth "somewhere" this coming Saturday, and the U.S. Space Command indicated that "almost the entire rocket body" remains intact. He added, "It is too early to know where it will land." According to the U.S. site Axios, this is not the first time that a rocket or spacecraft launched by the Chinese space agency has descended to Earth uncontrollably.
