AC Milan, the reigning champions of Serie A, faces competition from French club Marseille to sign Moroccan playmaker Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea during the current summer transfer window. The Moroccan star is open to leaving Chelsea this summer due to a lack of consistent playing time under German manager Thomas Tuchel.
Italian website "Tutto Mercato Web" reported that Milan is contending with Marseille, which is also looking to strengthen its attacking line by acquiring Ziyech. However, both clubs face a challenge regarding Ziyech's substantial salary demands, as the Moroccan is requesting an annual wage close to 7 million euros.
Ziyech, 29, joined Chelsea in 2020 from Ajax for a fee of 40 million euros. It's worth noting that Ziyech has not played for the Moroccan national team for nearly two years, having been excluded due to a dispute with the "Atlas Lions" manager, Bosnian Vahid Halilhodžić.
