World number one Ashleigh Barty from Australia faced Montenegro's Danka Kovinic in the first round of the Australian Open.

The Australian champion Ashleigh Barty smoothly advanced to the second round of the women's singles at the Australian Open after crushing her opponent Danka Kovinic from Montenegro 6-0, 6-0 on Tuesday.

Barty dominated the match, which lasted only 44 minutes, amid significant support from the crowd. After the victory, she remarked, "That's all. Fantastic." The Australian champion added, "One shouldn’t miss enjoying an evening in this beautiful venue."

Ashleigh Barty is aiming to become the first Australian to win a grand slam title in her home country since 1978. Notably, Barty will face either Spain's Sara Sorribes Tormo or Australian Daria Gavrilova, who is competing with a wild card, in the next round.
