Under the title "Britain Unveils New Force to Counter Putin's Army," Sky News reported that the British army has revealed a new special force capable of fighting on four separate fronts. The British newspaper Daily Mail noted on Thursday that one of the four battalions, comprising around 1,200 soldiers, will focus on emerging conflicts in Eastern Europe.
The report stated that British troops will be deployed there to confront the forces of Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom the West claims currently threatens to invade Ukraine. Two battalions will be stationed in Africa, while the fourth will be based in the Middle East.
The "Ranger" force consists of 1,200 British soldiers, with each battalion containing 400 soldiers. Members of this force will learn foreign languages to communicate with allies and will be trained to fight alongside local troops in the countries they are sent to.
Furthermore, Sky News indicated that the new force will be supported by dozens of military experts, and its members are expected to be capable of carrying out special operations missions. The new force will resemble the American special forces, whose members wear green berets.
Troops were selected from various army units based on their military skills. Notably, the new force is expected to engage in combat alongside allied forces rather than simply providing assistance. Soldiers in this force will have a new uniform, different hats, and a new emblem of a falcon, reflecting the force's capability to operate in all environments, with the latest weapons technology. The operational duties for this force are anticipated to commence in 2022.
