Defense Minister: We Appreciate Qatar's Support for the Lebanese Army

The Minister of National Defense, Maurice Slim, expressed his appreciation for the assistance provided by the State of Qatar to the Lebanese Army. This was stated in a message addressed to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense in Qatar, Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah, in which he thanked him for the congratulatory letter received on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, wishing for further progress and leadership for the brotherly State of Qatar. In this context, Minister Slim affirmed the commitment to continue the cooperative relations linking Lebanon with friendly countries. Additionally, the Minister of Defense received the military attaché at the Russian embassy, Colonel Yuri Benkov, heading a delegation, during a courtesy visit to introduce himself following the commencement of his duties. They discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Lebanon and the Russian Federation. Colonel Benkov expressed his country's willingness to increase military cooperation and its desire to resume training Lebanese Army officers, as well as to expedite the procedures necessary for signing a military cooperation agreement between the two countries.
