Death of Three People During Bullfighting in Spain

Bullfighting in Spain over the past 24 hours has resulted in the deaths of three individuals during a national entertainment event in the autonomous community of Valencia. According to the newspaper ABC, in addition to two Spaniards, a 60-year-old French tourist became a victim of the bulls. In the races, all three suffered fatal injuries after being gored by the bulls. The victims were transported to hospitals, but they could not be saved. A total of 478 people have been injured in bullfighting this year. In 2013, the Spanish Senate approved a law recognizing bullfighting as a cultural heritage of the country. This decision was made to protect the art of bullfighting from attempts by the public and some political forces to impose a ban on it for humanitarian and ethical reasons.
