This feature can be activated under the "My Contacts Except" option in the "Settings" menu, accessible via the three-dot icon in the upper right corner of WhatsApp. Users can then navigate to "Account" and click on "Privacy." However, WhatsApp notes that if a user prevents certain people from seeing their "last seen" status, those users will be treated the same way and will also be prevented from seeing the user's "last seen" status. This announcement comes after WhatsApp revealed earlier this week another anticipated feature that facilitates switching from an Android phone to an iPhone.
