Saudi Arabia Hosts Opening of Huawei's Largest Store Outside China

The government of Saudi Arabia has announced that the Chinese company Huawei plans to open its largest store outside of China in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The statement added that Huawei has signed an agreement with Saudi Kaden Investment to open the store, which will allow the Chinese company to reach consumers directly amid increasing demand for digital products and services in Saudi Arabia. The Ministry of Investment in Saudi Arabia stated that it expects internet usage in the Kingdom to rise from coverage of 73.2% of the population in 2017 to 82.6% in 2022. It is noted that the United States has requested that its allies not use Huawei technology to build 5G communication networks due to concerns that it may be a tool for Chinese espionage, an accusation that Huawei denies. The Saudi company Zain, along with some telecommunications companies in Gulf states, has signed deals to use Huawei's 5G technology.
