Navy Recognition has announced that China has begun work on a large remotely operated ship. According to the information obtained by the site, "the prototype of the ship will be manufactured under the supervision of Research Institute No. 716, part of the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). According to developers, this ship will be the most advanced remotely operated vessel in China."
The site pointed out that the new ship will be built based on the designs of "flying boats," meaning its hull rises with movement thanks to its sides equipped with wing-like curves, allowing this ship to achieve high speeds and cover long distances. It will also be equipped with advanced equipment that enables it to perform its missions independently based on various scenarios.
The site noted that Research Institute No. 716, part of CSSC, specializes in developing defense technologies in China, suggesting that the new ship is likely to have military applications. It is worth mentioning that CSSC recently showcased a 300-ton unmanned boat project at the Saudi World Defense Show, and one of the notable features of this boat, according to its developers, is its ability to carry unmanned helicopters.
