On Sunday, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdul-Latif bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Sheikh, issued an administrative decision to appoint Dr. Leila bint Hamad Al-Qasim as the Deputy for Planning and Digital Transformation for a full year. This marks her as the first female deputy in the Ministry of Islamic Affairs since its establishment, representing a significant shift to empower women to work in the Islamic affairs sectors. Previously, Al-Sheikh had assigned Dr. Leila Al-Qasim to manage the governance department linked to his office as part of efforts to enhance administrative work within the ministry, improve the quality of services offered to beneficiaries, and promote the principle of transparency. The decision announced today is in line with the minister's efforts to enhance the role of women in leadership positions and tasks across various sectors of the ministry, aligned with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, reflecting the ministry's belief in the importance of activating the distinctive role of Saudi women in serving government sectors and leveraging their potential for development and achieving the ministry's objectives.
