Google Maps is filled with features, some of which have been around for many years, but a large percentage of users are unaware of them. The Verge, a site specializing in technology, mentioned a simple feature in Google Maps that can be controlled with just one finger.
Users can tap the screen twice to zoom in on the map. If they want to zoom in and out quickly, they should keep their finger on the screen after the double tap and then slide their finger up and down to zoom in and out.
The Verge noted that this technique has existed for many years and was practically launched in 2013. This feature allows users to avoid the awkward moment of trying to use two or more fingers to adjust the map to check directions, especially if they are busy with something else.
