The president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, has reopened the door for the return of Argentine star Lionel Messi to the club in the future, following his departure last summer to Paris Saint-Germain. In an interview with ESPN, Laporta stated, "I don't think Messi's story with Barcelona is over. The possibilities are still open, and it is our responsibility to ensure that this story has a more beautiful ending than it did." He added, "I am not happy with the way Messi left Barcelona," as reported by Spanish sports newspaper Marca. Laporta continued, saying, "As president of Barcelona, I believe I did what needed to be done regarding Messi's departure, but on a personal level, I owe him."
