A security source reported on Sunday that Ain al-Asad base in Anbar province, western Iraq, was subject to an airstrike. The source, who requested anonymity, stated that the base was attacked by two drones whose origin is still unknown. The attack "did not result in any apparent losses with the military forces present at the base on high alert." Additionally, Victoria base in Baghdad faced a rocket attack, where U.S. military sources confirmed that one of the rockets that targeted the base fell near the diplomatic support center, causing no material or human damage. Ain al-Asad airbase hosts over 2,000 U.S. soldiers. Military and diplomatic sites of Western forces in Iraq are continuously subjected to rocket and bomb attacks, which U.S. officials and Iraqi officials attribute to armed factions close to Iran.
