German star Alexander Zverev, ranked sixth, faced off against the unseeded American Marcus Giron in his opening match at the Australian Open tennis tournament.
Zverev managed to turn around a setback in the first set to win three sets to one, with scores of (6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-2) in the first round of the Australian Open tennis tournament.
After a tough competition, American Marcus Giron won the first set with a score of 7-6. Zverev, however, succeeded in winning the second set after breaking his opponent’s serve, ending that set 7-6. But Giron struggled to withstand Zverev's serves over time and lost the third and fourth sets with scores of 6-3 and 6-2 respectively.
With this victory, Alexander Zverev qualifies for the second round of the Australian Open tennis tournament.
