Warning to Traders After Dollar Decline

Minister of Economy and Trade Amin Salam urged all food traders of all kinds and supermarket owners to fully comply with selling food products and all goods in accordance with the updated exchange rate pricing. He warned against non-compliance or manipulation with the intention of monopolizing food products and all goods to achieve illegitimate profits. He emphasized that the Consumer Protection Directorate and all monitoring agencies in the ministry, in coordination with security agencies, will launch inspection and monitoring patrols, and will take all strict deterrent and punitive measures against anyone who attempts to manipulate the food security of the Lebanese people.
