The Jenin governor and the Palestinian Health Ministry stated on Monday that four Palestinians were killed during armed confrontations with the Israeli army in the city of Jenin and its camp in the West Bank. The Health Ministry announced, "Martyrdom of citizens due to occupation gunfire early today in Jenin." The ministry reported the names of two of the deceased: Saleh Ammar (19 years old) and Raed Abu Saif (21 years old). Akram Rajoub, the governor of Jenin, told Palestine Radio, “The number of martyrs is four; two of them are being held by the occupation forces.” He added, "The Israeli military operation was swift and involved extensive live gunfire." Video footage on social media showed armed clashes between youths and Israeli forces. Local residents reported that the Israeli forces, who raided the city of Jenin and its camp in the early hours, had withdrawn. There has been no statement yet from the Israeli army regarding the events in Jenin.
