Can Carrots Restore Sharpness of Vision?

Dr. Margarita Arzumanyan, a Russian nutritionist, announced that sharpness of vision cannot be restored with the help of carrots. The expert states in an interview with Sputnik Radio that consuming large quantities of carrots or blueberries to improve vision is ineffective. Contrary to popular belief, carrots and blueberries do not have properties that assist in treating vision impairment. She mentions, "There was an opinion that carrots and blueberries help improve vision and treat the eyes. But this is not true. If there is vision impairment, no food substances will help treat it."

She adds that in order to maintain sharpness of vision, the diet must contain various vitamins and minerals necessary for the retina. She states, "It is essential for the diet to include omega-3 fatty acids, lutein, zinc, and vitamins A, B, C, and E. All of these elements and vitamins can be obtained from regular food." She continues, "Omega-3 comes from fish, lutein from vegetables, zinc from legumes, and vitamins from seeds and nuts. Overall, following a balanced diet ensures eye health as well."
