The source stated that this decision was made "based on what was raised by the specialized health authorities in the Kingdom regarding the epidemiological situation and the increase in COVID-19 infections and its variants."
The decision is also made "in light of the government's concern for the health of citizens and residents and the safety of visitors to the Holy Mosques." The source confirmed that all measures and protocols are subject to continuous evaluation by the specialized health authorities in the Kingdom, in accordance with developments in the epidemiological situation locally and globally.
The source emphasized the necessity for everyone to adhere to all precautionary measures, preventive steps, and protocols approved for their safety. It was noted that legal actions and penalties will be applied to violators, and the importance of all community members hastening to complete their vaccination doses was stressed.
