Interior and Municipalities Minister in the caretaker government, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, met with a delegation of exporters, farmers, and industrialists, accompanied by MP George Okais. The delegation conveyed to Mawlawi the "pain of the sector due to the suspension of exporting Lebanese products to Arab countries, specifically to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," asking him to "continue what he had started regarding controlling the smuggling of Captagon pills to Arab countries and to seek a solution to the export issue."
For his part, Mawlawi promised the delegation to "work on finding a solution to this issue." In the same context, Mawlawi met with the Lebanese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Fouad Kabara. He also received, in succession, MPs Michel Douaihy, Mohammad Yahya, and then Michel Moussa, discussing issues related to their regions.
Mawlawi received from the European Union Election Observation Committee, which visited him headed by its president Georgi Holvini, a copy of its final report and recommendations regarding the parliamentary elections that took place in Lebanon.
