The Ministry of Education in Egypt has announced the introduction of hieroglyphic symbols in the curricula of the new system, which will be implemented next year from the fourth grade to the end of secondary education, according to Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper. The ministry emphasized that the teaching of hieroglyphic symbols will be addressed in most subjects, whether through topics or activities, aiming to educate students about their ancient history, raise awareness, and spark students' interest in hieroglyphic writing, which was one of the key means of communication in ancient Egyptian civilization, not for memorization.
It pointed out that all subjects will integrate to support the development of students' archaeological and tourism awareness, and that the future curriculum development plan includes a clear advancement in enhancing students' archaeological and tourism consciousness.
The ministry confirmed that archaeological and tourism awareness is one of the top priorities it focuses on across different stages of education.
