Clashes escalated late Tuesday in the cities of Lod and Ramla, as well as other cities within Israel, between Palestinian youths, Israeli police, and settlers. Reports indicated that youths in Ramla burned dozens of settlers' cars, prompting police to evacuate dozens of Jewish residents for their safety. In Akka, protesters set fire to a restaurant, as well as a police station and settlers' vehicles, in addition to a Jewish synagogue.
Violent confrontations also occurred in Lod between police and Palestinian youths, with police stating they evacuated dozens of Jewish families from their homes due to the ongoing events. Late Tuesday night, an Israeli was injured by a stone thrown at his head after protesters attacked his vehicle in Lod, with his injury reported as serious. The clashes in Lod began during the funeral of a man killed the previous night in the city.
Massive demonstrations also erupted in Sakhnin, Haifa, Nazareth, Rahat, Taibeh, Dier al-Asad, Bi'ina, Tamra, Baqa al-Gharbiyye, Majd al-Krum, Jaffa, Kufr Qari, Ara'ara, Mashhad, among other towns, in response to the assaults by the occupation in occupied East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip. The demonstrations witnessed confrontations with police, who arrested and caused injuries to some protesters.
Yair Revivo, the mayor of Lod, told Israeli Channel 12 news: "We have lost control of the city and the streets." Security officials reported that they summoned 16 companies of border police from the occupied West Bank to Lod to address the violence.
