Japanese Police Acknowledge

The Japanese police have admitted to problems in the security of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who was killed. The police chief of Nara Prefecture, where Abe was shot on Friday, stated that it is undeniable that there were security breaches, given that the former leader was killed with a firearm in the presence of his security detail. Police chief Tomuaki Onizuka said in a press conference, "I take this matter very seriously, and I am deeply sorry." He added that he takes full responsibility for the assassination of Abe, as he oversaw and approved the security plan. He continued, "I believe it is undeniable that there are problems concerning the security of former Prime Minister Abe."
