Coalition: 300 Houthi Militants Killed South of Marib in 24 Hours

The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced on Tuesday that around 300 Houthi militants were killed in the last 24 hours due to airstrikes in the Al-Abdiyyah area south of Marib governorate. The coalition stated in a statement, reported by the Saudi Press Agency, "We targeted nine military vehicles of the Houthi militias in Al-Abdiyyah, and their losses exceeded 134 personnel." The coalition confirmed that 43 strikes were carried out on Houthi vehicles and personnel in the Al-Abdiyyah district south of Marib in the past 24 hours.

On Monday, dozens of women from the Al-Abdiyyah district and human rights activists organized a protest to denounce the siege imposed by the Houthi militia on the district south of Marib, which has been ongoing for 22 days. The protesters condemned the continued Houthi blockade on Al-Abdiyyah and the international community's inaction regarding the siege during the rally held in front of the offices of international humanitarian organizations in Marib city.

The protesters called on the United Nations to move from neglect and inaction to exert greater pressure on the terrorist militias to end this siege and stop their simultaneous attacks on the district, as well as to facilitate humanitarian convoys to aid those trapped and evacuate the wounded. They handed a copy of their statement to representatives of the UN organizations, emphasizing the need for urgent intervention to save civilians in Al-Abdiyyah, including women, children, the elderly, and the sick, from genocide, lift the siege, and establish an airlift to deliver much-needed medicines and food, which have completely run out, to help them resist starvation and disease.

The women at the protest called on the UN and the international community to classify the Houthi group as a terrorist organization and its leaders as war criminals who should be pursued in justice for the victims and to ensure they do not escape punishment. Human rights sources indicated that the Houthi militia is depriving 5,300 families, totaling 35,000 civilians, of access to food, water, and medicine for more than twenty days in the Al-Abdiyyah district.

Severe malnutrition has been reported, with at least 9,827 children living under the siege suffering from malnutrition, including 2,465 facing acute malnutrition, while 3,451 women need reproductive and health care. The militia is also denying 34 patients access to urgent healthcare, 23 of whom suffer from kidney failure, and 11 who are battling cancer. The sources pointed out that the lack of food and water has forced civilians to drink contaminated water, raising concerns of a health disaster.
