Nasrallah's First Comment on the Bishop's Case: We Have No Involvement!

The Secretary-General of "Hezbollah," Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, stated that “the assumption by some that the Lebanese security agencies work under Hezbollah’s command is a lie, slander, and injustice to both the security agencies and Hezbollah.” He added: “I say to all the Lebanese people, especially the Christians, that Hezbollah has no connection to the case of Bishop Moussa al-Haj and we will not intervene in it.” Nasrallah viewed that “what has occurred over the past two days regarding the case of Bishop al-Haj will not leave a state, institutions, or judiciary, and this is a dangerous course,” noting that “transferring funds from occupied Palestine to Lebanon is an act outside the law, regardless of its reasons.” Regarding the presidency, Nasrallah indicated that “approaching the issue of the presidency by defining the specifications of the next president is a waste of time and there is no benefit in discussing it,” adding: “Hezbollah has not yet started discussing the names of candidates for the presidency, and we will not have a candidate but will decide whom to support among the natural candidates.”
