Egyptian Coach Identifies Morocco's Most Dangerous Player... Not Achraf Hakimi

All eyes are eagerly awaiting the match between the Egyptian and Moroccan teams on Sunday (7:00 PM UAE time) in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations currently taking place in Cameroon. Both sides are wary of the trump cards their opponent possesses and will work to limit their movement.

While observers are well aware that Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is the most dangerous player in the Egyptian squad, the Moroccan team has many prominent names, with Achraf Hakimi, the internationally acclaimed defender who plays for Paris Saint-Germain, among them. However, former Egyptian national team coach Hamada Sidqi does not consider Hakimi the most dangerous player in the Moroccan squad; rather, he cites the skillful Sofiane Boufal. In statements on Al Mehwar TV, he said, "Boufal is the best player in the Moroccan team and must not be given any space to move behind the right-back."

Regarding the Egyptian team, he stated, "I do not prefer to start Mohannad Lashin, the midfielder, as he hasn’t played since the beginning of the tournament, and it is better not to start with him. It is preferable for Ahmed Sayed Zizo or Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet to play instead of Hamdi Fathy, who is likely to miss the match due to injury." Egypt qualified for the quarter-finals after a thrilling victory over Ivory Coast on penalties, 5-4, while Morocco also reached this stage after turning the tables on Malawi with a 2-1 win.
