Lebanese President Michel Aoun addressed the issue that occurred with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during his meeting with an industrial delegation. He emphasized that he does not accept "for Lebanon to be a means of harm to the brotherly Arab countries in general, and to Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States in particular, given the strong ties that connect Lebanon with these countries, which have always stood by it in various circumstances." He stated: "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a brotherly country, and we care about maintaining the existing economic cooperation with it. We are currently making significant efforts to uncover the circumstances of what happened and to restore matters to their correct path. The Minister of the Interior has been assigned to follow up on the issue with the relevant Saudi authorities, and there seems to be an understanding, with the hope that we can reach solutions." He pointed out that "the measures taken in the expanded meeting held last Monday at Baabda Palace will be implemented, and the security agencies will tighten monitoring of export movements from Lebanese land, sea, and air facilities to reassure the countries receiving Lebanese agricultural and industrial products."
