Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stated in a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart that Tehran is ready to actively and intensively participate in the reconstruction of the "liberated areas" located along the joint border between the two countries.
Zarif also met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeihun Bayramov on Monday to discuss important issues of mutual interest in various bilateral and regional fields.
He expressed his satisfaction with his visit to Azerbaijan "after the liberation of the occupied territories of the country" and extended his greetings to the victims of the war, especially the civilians and their families. Zarif considered the upcoming phase crucial for helping establish peace and stability in the region for the benefit of all parties and powers involved.
Zarif clarified that the purpose of his tour in the region, starting from Baku, is an attempt to assist and strive for the establishment of peace and calm. He also expressed his satisfaction with the expansion of intensive meetings between Iranian and Azerbaijani officials in recent months.
