Messi: I Cried and Wanted to Leave Barcelona

Lionel Messi, the star of Barcelona, spoke about his appearance and hobbies during a recent interview. Messi said to the Argentine newspaper Olé, “Leaving the beard? I had been shaving for a long time because I was contracted with a shaving company, and they asked me to do that. When the contract ended, I decided not to shave.” He added, “At the 2016 Copa America in the United States, there were a lot of men with beards. The same goes for my hair, it can either be long or short.”

He continued, “I love paddle tennis. I play it with Pedri on the same team, and he plays well. We don’t play much because we have matches every three days, but I enjoy it.” Messi went on to say, “My mother’s food? I love milanesa, maybe because of the sauce she puts on it. I’ve eaten it a lot, but I prefer the one I eat at home with that sauce. Others have tried it and said it’s really good.”

He added, “The difficulty of playing in Barcelona during childhood and the hardship of traveling between Argentina and Catalonia? I cried and wanted to go back to what I was doing before, but at the same time, I didn’t want to go back.” He concluded, “I lost a lot of friends because communication was more difficult at that time, but now, any 13-year-old has a phone. Sometimes I spent an hour on the phone, but then it became difficult and I wasn't able to keep the friends.”
