Bahrain Falls to Japan in Handball World Cup

The Cairo International Stadium hosted the match between the Japan national team and the Bahrain national team in the third and final round of Group B matches in the main stage of the Handball World Championship in Egypt.

With this match, the Japanese handball team concluded its participation in the 27th World Championship with a moral victory (29-25) over their Bahraini counterparts. Japan ended the first half in their favor (19-12) and maintained their lead in the second half, despite a rally from the Bahraini team.

The Japanese team (the Samurai Warriors) raised their points to three, finishing in fifth place (second to last) in the group, while the Bahraini team remained in last place with no points.

The Danish team, the world champions, secured the first qualification ticket from this group to the quarter-finals. The teams of Argentina (six points), Croatia (five points), and Qatar (four points) are competing for the other ticket through the upcoming matches of Denmark against Croatia and Qatar against Argentina later in the day.

Notably, Japanese player Koshiko Yuchino received the title of Man of the Match.
