After 64 days of resilience and struggle with pain, martyr Bassel Fleihan passed away at the "Pécsi" military hospital in Paris on April 18, 2005, remaining loyal to his companion until his last breath. On the site of the terrorist crime where the criminals executed the crime of the century targeting martyr President Rafik Hariri and his companions, preparations continue for the establishment of a memorial for Fleihan, which will be unveiled on the 12th of this month, initiated by the late's wife, as reported by "Mustaqbal Web."
Fleihan's statue has been placed in front of the Venice Hotel, where work is ongoing in anticipation of its unveiling, next to the memorial of the martyr president, in a square that will remain a testament to the dignity of two men whose primary concern was their country, and who were martyred in defense of its freedom and the dignity of a people lacking both in the direst circumstances.
