The spokesperson for the Arab Coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen, Turki Al-Maliki, stated on Sunday that Houthi militias are fighting in Yemen with a sectarian ideology. Al-Maliki explained during a press conference: "There are no interests for Saudi Arabia or Gulf states in Yemen except for restoring security and stability, after these militias adopted the sectarian ideology that Iran has transferred to all Arab countries and brought about destruction and devastation." He added: "What is happening in Yemen is a battle between peace and destruction, the peace that we desire, and the destruction that Iran, Hezbollah, and the Houthi militias, which are merely tools for these desires, want."
Al-Maliki mentioned that the coalition "will reveal evidence of Hezbollah's involvement with Houthi militias in their attacks." He indicated that a political solution is the best solution for the Yemen crisis, adding, "However, the Houthi militias do not seek peace, because the sectarian ideology fuels their ideas." He continued: "The Houthi militias have thwarted the efforts of the United Nations and humanitarian organizations and have taken control of international aid." The spokesperson further stated: "Yemenis are fighting for a comprehensive political solution, and all initiatives have been presented to reach a comprehensive political resolution, but the militias rejected them."
