Scientists in Japan have developed a child-like robot designed to behave like a 10-year-old boy. The robot, named "Ibuki," moves on two wheels and can use its soft, rubbery facial muscles to change its facial expressions. The designers, supported by artificial intelligence technology, aim to offer companionship to humans who suffer from loneliness. According to Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro, a robotics expert at Osaka University, the robot accurately mimics human movements and integrates sensors that enable it to recognize its surroundings. According to research published in the journal "Robotics," Japanese scientists have equipped the robot with the ability to make involuntary movements, such as blinking, in addition to a wide range of facial expressions like happiness, surprise, and fear.
