The French PSA Group and the Italian Fiat Chrysler have announced the completion of their merger into a single company named Stellantis, becoming the fourth largest automotive manufacturer in the world, according to a joint statement.
Carlos Tavares, the head of the PSA Group, will lead Stellantis, which will compete with major global automotive companies such as Volkswagen and Toyota. John Elkann, grandson of Fiat's founder Giovanni Agnelli, will chair the board of directors. The company has a workforce of 400,000 employees, headquartered in the Netherlands, with operations in Europe and North America.
