Groom Killed by Stray Bullet from Well-Wisher in Sudan

A Sudanese groom was killed on his wedding day by a stray bullet, despite attempts at emergency medical care. The joyous occasion turned into a mourning event following the groom's death from an accidental gunshot by one of his congratulating friends, according to the Sudan News Journal. The groom lost his life just minutes after his marriage ceremony in the Sha’idinab neighborhood in Al-Damer, Northern Nile State. Attempts to save him at Al-Damer Hospital were unsuccessful, and the police have taken over the investigation. The phenomenon of gunfire at weddings has recurred despite official bans on such actions.
