Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov disclosed how President Vladimir Putin will spend the New Year holiday 2022. In response to a journalist's question about how President Putin celebrates the holiday, Peskov stated, "Russian President Vladimir Putin traditionally celebrates the New Year with family and friends. At the same time, the president will work partially during the Christmas holiday week in Russia."
Peskov continued, saying, "It is rare for him to take a full vacation during the New Year holiday. I think he will take a break in the first days of the holiday." He explained that "the head of state must continuously work with documents and reports, and when there is such a worrying situation in Europe, information is constantly received from all sources, through all channels. President Putin needs to read and hear reports, and this process cannot be stopped."
Peskov did not rule out that the president might hold some meetings during the New Year holiday, but according to him, full meetings have not been planned yet. He also clarified that the president's plans for the Christmas week do not currently include a trip to Sochi for skiing, stating, "I don’t know if he is planning that. So far, there is nothing in the works."
